Hawaiian Language and Culture within the Early Childhood Setting FULL

This workshop was created for educators working with Early Childhood keiki ages three to eight years of age. Developmentally appropriate practices for this age group will be presented to educators in order to further their `ike (knowledge) of how to present some of the basics of the language and culture of Hawaiʻi to young keiki in the classroom setting. Strategies will include: personal introductions, simple vocabulary, short phrases, mele (songs) and preparation for pule (prayer) among other techniques.
