ʻIʻini Kahakalau

Born and raised in Waipiʻo Valley on Hawaiʻi Island, ʻIʻinimaikalani Kealiʻikuaʻāina Kahakalau has been immersed in Hawaiian language, culture and traditions since birth, while also traveling the world and learning about global responsibility. A Chancellor Scholar, ʻIʻini graduated in Spring 2015 with Honors from the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, where she created her own undergraduate degree, which combines Hawaiian Language and Studies, Computer Science and E-commerce. For the past three (3) years, ʻIʻini worked as Basic Hawaiian Associate Project Director at INPEACE, assisting in the development of Basic Hawaiian, the first anytime-anywhere, online Hawaiian Language and Culture Program, which she is currently promoting locally, nationally and internationally.
