Nio Kindla

Nio Kindla is the Operations Director with Grow Some Good.   Grow Some Good was created in 2008 as a program of South Maui Sustainability’s School Garden Committee to support gardens created at Kihei Elementary, Lokelani Intermediate School and Kamali’i Elementary. Since its inception, Grow Some Good has expanded its outreach at Kihei Elementary from one teacher and three small raised beds to a 10,000 square-foot school garden with 29 teachers and more than 620 students participating in the outdoor learning programs.  Grow Some Good is now established in 12 Maui schools and partnering with many more.

Through partnerships with Community Work Day, Maui School Garden Network and other local organizations, Grow Some Good continues to expand its outreach to neighborhood schools and their surrounding communities. In October 2010, Chef Dan Fiske, owner of PrivateMauiChef.com, and Chef Brian Etheredge, owner of Capische?, signed on as adopting sponsors of the Kihei Elementary School program, funding ongoing garden maintenance and a part-time coordinator position. With your continued support and assistance we are able to plant new seeds of change every day in our gardens with inspired outdoor learning adventures and greater nutrition awareness  for our keiki.
